Moments for the record: December 2008

Finally! UTs are done! 3 weeks of break starting..hah
so now i finally got the chance to blog about YAF Retreat on last sun and mon, 7-8 dec at the salvation army.

right after church service, we had lunch and then the retreat! was in the same group as Kevin Loo, Peter Tam, Richard Fung, Jiet Sie, Linxin and Swi Lin joined us later on. we started with the station games inside the church itself and the areas near the church compound.

our first station was in level 3 in church. it's almost like minesweeper and we completed in just 6 min! hahah. next was the number tapping. the game was so strict, we weren't allowed to run or even to make a single squeaky noise. after that, the third station was the cup stacking where esther was in charged.

cup stacking game where we had to stack the cups of the fruits of the spirit as high as possible using the string and the rubber band only.

then we went to station near the basketball court where we have to fill the bucket with water and at last, we came to the last versus game: blowing out the candle of your opponents to prevent them from burning your string apart! and our team emerged as champion in the end! hooray! hahah..

okay, this was when we reached salvation army inside the girl's room. we were practising for our skit for the night! hahah..

it was hard brainstorming for a skit you know, cause Kevin, our leader chose the five keywords :

-love

-singing

-flying

-kindergarten

-zoo

we didnt know what are those keywords for when we chose them, so kevin simply chose or to be accurate, he chose what he like..haha

our main theme would be love, and then he chose singing because he said he can sing, flying because he said of course he can fly, zoo because he likes zoo and kindergarten was randomly given to us.

we were brainstorming very hard cause we dont know how to link those keywords together!!!

and AT LAST! kevin sat down, worked and came out with this storyline:

there was once a little boy named 'Ah Boy' (played by Peter Tam) and a girl named 'Ah Girl' (played by me). Ah boy fell in love with Ah Girl since kindergarten. and then finally one day, Ah Boy picked up the courage to express out Ah Girl out to the zoo and while waiting for Ah Girl, he and also sang I believe I can fly, echoed by the other members in the team. when Ah Girl came, he handed a bottle of mineral water to Ah Girl. but Ah Girl refuse to take the mineral water because she wants 'teh tarik' and asked why must he force her to drink mineral water. Ah Boy answered "Because I Love You". the story ends with Ah Girl slapping Ah Boy. oops!

because the other skits were about what love is, so we came out with this skit to show what love is not!

so after dinner, we come to our skit time and Esther's team is the first team! their skit is basically about fatherly love. so we have William as the Father and Esther as 'Ah Girl' (the daughter) with their five keywords:love, actress, bubble tea, fighting and guitar. Ah Girl practically wants popularity and when she has it all, she forgot her father. then she got allergic to bubble tea which led her to reconcile with her father. hahah!

next was our team:

this was when Peter was introduced as 'Ah Boy' at the starting of the skit.

they were singing 'I believe I can fly!' when he finally asked 'Ah Girl' to the zoo.

in the zoo, Swi Lin and Jiet Sie pushed me down to sit on the chair when he finally picked up the courage to express his feelings to Ah Girl.

note that he was trying to express his feelings..hahah..he was very funny, i couldnt stop laughing till i almost forgot my lines!

our last part was actually based on the advertisement where he handed me mineral water but i said I want teh tarik instead..haha..

it goes like " this mineral water is for you". then Ah Girl said, "Why must you force me to drink mineral water, i want teh tarik la!" And Ah Boy answered, "Because I love you!"

it was funny but nice in the whole!:)
