another week
Oops!.. One week of no updates.. gosh.. i just realised i'm getting a little lazy for it already..this shouldn't be the case..ok, i cannot abandon this blog!..hahas
hmm, where should i start? there's been a lot of things going on this week.. fun time! went jogging at admiralty park with sibelle after class on monday while sj and edwin watched naruto while waiting for us..ooops..sorry! lol..basically went over to jack's class to have cs sessions again!..this time with some rules and sibelle and I are ruling the game! this seldom happens, thanks to the rules!..yayness:)
today's a sunday..went to church and after service, we went to the Sarah centre for the elderly and the older folks near bukit merah. actually, i didn't even think of the purpose of going there. i just go for the sake of going because everyone in the cell is going. but when i come to think of it, i realised the purpose of it, which is to bring joy to the old folks, to let them know that there's still many people out there caring for them. this actually made the visit more meaningful. All cell groups in the young adults fellowship joined together to plan activites for the elderly in the centre. there were around 30 of us which was enough for a one-to-one interaction or get-to-know-more session with the old folks. first, we had a short skit, then songs.. basically, we prepared two songs for them.. we had a hokkien song 'jin jia ho' and it is indeed my first hokkien song!..gosh..but still i have no idea what the song means.. the other song will be the christian song 'as the deer' translated into chinese.. the old folks were more enthusiastic and active than we thought they would be! so it was really fun time and we also played games with them.. most of the old folks speak cantonese and so i'm the canton translator of the day! hahas~...
i could see that they appreciate our visit very much..we bought lunch for them. even though the lunch was not nice at all, they were all tasteless to us..but when we asked the old folks whether they like the food, they said that the lunch was very nice! some of them even packet back! we went over and talked to them, initiating conversations..most of them were living alone where their children and grandchildren only visits them like once a month! some of their children didn't even give them pocket money to spend..but even so, the old folks was like telling us this fact in a very happy manner..they are actually contented and satisfied with life.. and so, i've learnt a lesson, positivity, which is to always think on things on the positive side..the old folks didn't even complained a single word on their lives. many of them also shared with us their pasts.. of why some of them are behaving in a certain way.. some tend to avoid people..
there is no doubt for His faithfulness..His faithfulness is everlasting..His will is always pleasing.. it's indeed a meaningful experience:)
what does it look like?...lol.. the big head puppy by nicholas!!!.. it is meant to be a sunflower at first but later modified into a puppy!..haha=)
one week passed real fast..gotta head down for reflection journals again starting from tomorrow...
gonna stop here...
